Ask an Italian to sing you a song and it’s a toss up whether he’ll sing you a ballad in bel canto style like Dion or bring the house down with an operatic aria to rival the likes of Pavarotti. But one thing is for certain … music is a necessity for the Italian people ~ as necessary as the air they breathe. Even Italian folk music is an important part of the country’s musical heritage, and spans a diverse array of regional styles, instruments and dances.
